Client: Westgreen Construction
Duration: 4 weeks
Summary of Albion Works:
- Ischebeck Titan tension micropiles in terrace gravels
- 52Nr. to depths between 9 and 18 metres
- Bayonet decoupling micropiles for quick basement construction
- Rapid installation without the requirement of casing using rotary percussive Klemm piling rig
This delicate, restricted access project involved excavating and stabilising a new basement under an existing building in a busy residential area. We were required to install multiple piles around all sides of the structure to act as a retaining wall. This then allowed us to fully excavate the basement.
Throughout the project our drilling rig operators worked carefully around critical load-bearing structural columns and walls that couldn’t be disturbed.
Due to the difficult nature of this project and our ability to deliver with excellence, this project was a finalist in the Ground Engineering Awards that year.
